We had a grand Function for my Ayush Homam on May 18th 2008 at Kansas city Temple. Myself and 
parents reached Kansas city on 17th May 2008 at around 3.30pm. We stayed at my Aunt’s house. I had a great time with uncle, aunt and Sailesh. We went out for some shopping that evening. Next day, my aunt, uncle and mom got up at 6.00 am to prepare for the function. I got up around 8.30. After having an oil bath, I put on nice Pattu Pavadai with chain and bangles. I sure look gorgeous in it. After preparing food, we reached the temple around 11.00 am.
As soon as we reached the temple, appa changed to Veshti. We sat down to start pooja. First we had a Ganapathi pooja and then lakshmi pooja. Appa performed all these poojas. I just had to sit there and observe things. Before the end of the pooja, they brought a flower garland and put it on me. I didnt like it at first, but then it looked good on me. So I accepted it. As soon as the Pooja was over, appa carried me and next thing you know, I was fast asleep. I was really tired with all the hard work :).
By the time I got up, everyone was having food. So, I joined them and had some sakkarai pongal and Gulab Jamun. It sure was yummy… After lunch, we went to mall. I always love malls. I can watch things around me and also so many people around. But…
I didn’t know they were going to pierce my ears. Ouch.. That hurts.. So, I cried for a while. But, Those ear rings sure look good on me. Then we came home and Aparna Aunty and Ramya Aunty took Aarathi. We came into the house and took some rest.
Around 5.30 pm, we took off in our van to return back home. I was so tired, that I slept through out the journey. We reached home around 8.30pm.
It sure was a memorable journey and I did enjoy it, except for those few minutes when they pierced my ears. But I will forgive everyone for their mistake, because those ear rings sure make me look even more beautiful.
